MEET the Therapist, DR. DESTINY HUFF, LPC

Dr. Destiny Huff, LPC, is the owner and sole therapist of HRG Counseling & Supervision, LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist with more than 15 years of experience in the mental health field.
Throughout her career, Dr. Huff has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across a variety of settings, including homes, community-based programs, early childhood development centers, schools, and private practice.
Dr. Huff approaches therapy from a person-centered, solution-focused perspective, recognizing each client as the authority on their own life and lived experience. Rather than approaching therapy as a process of “fixing” the client, she works collaboratively with clients to explore stressors, identify patterns, build insight, strengthen existing skills, and determine what meaningful progress looks like for them.
Her work is also informed by multicultural, trauma-responsive, and neuroaffirming perspectives. Dr. Huff recognizes that mental health and well-being cannot be separated from a person’s culture, identity, relationships, environment, experiences, and access to support. She considers these factors when helping clients navigate life transitions, relationships, stress, emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and other mental health concerns.
When appropriate, Dr. Huff incorporates trauma-focused interventions and works collaboratively with clients to identify coping strategies, accommodations, boundaries, and supports that are realistic and meaningful for their individual needs.
Dr. Huff believes therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported in developing a deeper understanding of themselves while creating change that aligns with their values, needs, and goals.
I especially like replacing “implementing new coping skills” as the primary framing because your current work seems much broader than teaching people how to cope; this version leaves room to examine the environment, relationships, access needs, boundaries, and supports too.

HRG Client
I love her that Destiny is very relatable and when I talk to her the very first time she identified a lot of my problems! No judgements and you can honestly tells she cares! Thank you Destiny!
HRG Client
She has a knack for not making me feel weird for overthinking everything. She lets me speak my part before responding with apt analogies and had a way with words that makes sense to me. 10/10
HRG Client
Very patient person and I know I talk a lot. She grounds me and we’ve gotten to the center of so many issues that have bothered me. The most important thing I’ve learned from her is that my feelings are valid. She’s taken a big weight off my shoulders
HRG Client
My therapist is great, she is relatable and I feel comfortable talking to her and she has given me great feedback and has helped me on my journey of personal growth.
HRG Client
Sessions with Destiny are just easy. But the therapeutic process is tough because her confrontation is on point! If you want to do the work, book your session. Time will pass. You will heal. Life will improve.
